Coexistence of incommensurate magnetism and superconductivity in Fe1+ySexTe1−x

چکیده
We have studied the superconducting and magnetic properties of Fe1+ySexTe1−x single crystals (0≤x≤0.5) by magnetic susceptibility, muon-spin rotation, and neutron diffraction. We find three regimes of behavior: (i) commensurate magnetic order for x≲0.1, (ii) bulk superconductivity for x∼0.5, and (iii) a range x≈0.25-0.45 in which superconductivity coexists with incommensurate magnetic order. The results are qualitatively consistent with two-band mean-field models in which itinerant magnetism and extended s-wave superconductivity are competing order parameters.

Influence of interstitial Fe to the phase diagram of Fe1+yTe1−xSex single crystals
Superconductivity (SC) with the suppression of long-range antiferromagnetic (AFM) order is observed in the parent compounds of both iron-based and cuprate superconductors. The AFM wave vectors are bicollinear (π, 0) in the parent compound FeTe different from the collinear AFM order (π, π) in most iron pnictides. Study of the phase diagram of Fe1+yTe1-xSex is the most direct way to investigate t...
متن کاملInterplay between magnetism and superconductivity in the iron pnictides
We consider phase transitions and potential coexistence of spin-density-wave SDW magnetic order and extended s-wave s+ superconducting order within a two-band itinerant model of iron pnictides in which SDW magnetism and s+ superconductivity are competing orders. We show that depending on parameters, the transition between these two states is either first order or involves an intermediate phase ...
متن کاملCoexistence of Magnetism and Superconductivity in Separate Layers of Iron-Based Superconductor Li1−xFex(OH)Fe1−ySe
The magnetic properties attributed to the hydroxide layer of Li1−xFex(OH)Fe1−ySe have been elucidated by the study of superconducting and non-superconducting members of this family of compounds. Both a.c. magnetometry and muon spin relaxation measurements of non-superconductors find a magnetic state existing below ≈ 10 K which exhibits slow relaxation of magnetisation. This magnetic state is ac...
متن کاملTuning across the BCS-BEC crossover in the multiband superconductor Fe1+ySexTe1−x: An angle-resolved photoemission study
The crossover from Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) superconductivity to Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) is difficult to realize in quantum materials because, unlike in ultracold atoms, one cannot tune the pairing interaction. We realize the BCS-BEC crossover in a nearly compensated semimetal, Fe1+y Se x Te1-x , by tuning the Fermi energy εF via chemical doping, which permits us to systematical...
متن کاملEvolution of spin excitations into the superconducting state in FeTe1-xSex
The origin of the superconducting state in the recently discovered Fe-based materials1–3 is the subject of intense scrutiny. Neutron scattering4–7 and NMR (ref. 8) measurements have already demonstrated a strong correlation between magnetism and superconductivity. A central unanswered question concerns the nature of the normal-state spin fluctuations that may be responsible for the pairing. Her...
